I kinda get that. I’ve been watching Japanese gaming vids on YouTube and found a nice channel so that’s how I’ve been trying to immerse myself while learning. Kanji is so difficult as well

Immersion is the most important part. I watch a lot of anime so that helps with some listening although ik it’s not exactly the same as regular spoken Japanese but it’s something. I started some kanji last year so ik a few, been bouncing between some free apps. Trying two new ones to see if they are more efficient

Yeah I’m lowkey wondering how to do immersion w/o being in Japan. Was thinking audio books, movies, tv shows etc..don’t know how effective it will be tho

I’ve seen a few different things from other people. I think finding ways to incorporate in your life aside from just practicing. Talking to natives on apps, or referring to things you use constantly. Even just talking about what you do each day to yourself as practice. Music. There are lots of examples. I bet the most difficult would be changing the language on your phone but definitely need to be a higher level for that haha. Having a study buddy probably helps.

For me I listen to music every time I drive and that’s helped with some of the pronunciation. It sounds goofy but memorizing the lyrics and singing along helps a lot

You can listen to whatever you like but my personal taste is a lot of 70s and 80s city pop and any other songs I just happen to like from shows or anywhere else

Yeah I love Japanese music so much. I also heard listening to a song that you know (but in Japanese) can help you connect the words between the languages. There’s a Japanese version of “Dear Maria count me in” that I used to listen to a TON
