Idk what to say about the face thats kind of the art style with the only thing making women look more mature in the show is make-up which mao-mao sometimes has anyway. Thats also kind of the modern anime artsyle

I mean maomao at the start of the series is only supposed to be like 16/17 and features jinshi who’s 24, while ka zugetsu is 18/19? IMHO by the later books of the series, she’s drawn in a more mature looking way

As for her body type that can probably be explained by malnourishment since she grew up poor. Not to defend *those* childlike characters but i feel like this show was tasteful especially compared to others

Not saying it’s distasteful ofc, I just wish (especially now that she’s older) her face just felt more mature like when she’s serious or looking disinterested and cold like her mother. Her body isn’t the issue to me personally cuz women look like that IRL. But with her height difference with Jinshi it’s easy how people mistake her for a child
