It’s popular for the same reasons as solo leveling. It was also the most popular show that was airing at the start of the pandemic, which is also when the manga was wrapping up, so literally everybody saw it

The hype is mostly its animation. I think it deserves the hype. I don’t rlly see anyone hype it up for its story. It’s not ground breaking story or deep characters. It is a fun watch and it tickles something in ur brain that makes it rlly cool.

Or I guess not the start of the pandemic, but within the months leading up to it I think it was prob the most well known show at the time

It was also the first show that kinda started that shift from anime being cringe to watch to being like “oh cool, you watched that show too?”
