i super recommend it!! i didn't really like the first half since it imo felt like the writer was trying way too hard to be 'hashtag dark and edgy🥀🥀', but the second half is genuinely amazing and shocked me at how good it was. read it all in 1 sitting and felt horrible for like 3 days afterwards. that shit is depressing as hell. go into it blind!!

real, End of Evangelion in particular sure as hell fits the bill. that shit eviscerates me every time 😭 personally the tv series finale feels kinda uplifting but in a way that actually appeals to me, cause it’s still apocalyptic and doesn’t totally negate the despondency of the rest of the show

I’m a massive nerd for Eva so excuse the rambling, but god I love how Anno gave us two (three if you fw the Rebuilds) equally-canonical endings to pick from that’re both cosmic-scale & mindbending but in such different directions. just brilliantly executed, no notes
