Spoilers!! Just watched Violet Evergarden the Movie and I was kinda disappointed with the ending. Her relationship with Gilbert being romantic just doesn’t really make sense I liked that it was more familial in the series or it at least felt like it

Imo it was always romantic but she didn’t realize or know those feelings then Her character arc during the story from basically a robot to a person with emotions is how she realizes those feelings and ends up with him in the end But the age gap weird as hell fs

I was lowk hoping she went back cause another way of looking at her character arc is that now she’s her own independent person but I do get the actually ending

Yeah, I get that its set in a time where the age gap is acceptable but it just feels icky
