I mean, messing with the Celestial Dragons isn’t required in order to become Pirate King, which is why none of the other top pirates acknowledge it or care. And what, plenty of people knew the One Piece was real before Luffy? 😭 if anything it was Whitebeard who got the general public to believe it really existed when he said it on live TV during Marineford lmfao
yeah but i dont think whitebeard would have told anyone without luffy inspiring him. its completely subjective but i do believe that he wouldn't have said anything about it if not for luffy. i would say a small handful of people actually believed in the one piece, but almost everyone thought of it as a myth. and yes its not required, but imo being pirate king is more than just being most powerful, its also about inspiring others to follow their dreams. celestial dragons impede on others, (1/2)
That’s all technically true, but in-universe, the only true prerequisite to becoming Pirate King is finding the One Piece, so it’s no wonder the other pirates are laser focused on that. And like you said with the Whitebeard thing, there’s no way to really confirm that. Also, who is standing up to the Celestial Dragons outside of Luffy’s group, Garp (selectively), and the Revolutionaries? As of now, they’re still firmly in power across the world with no one daring to touch them
like chapter 1119 or something i forgot when they were talking about it but yeah they were saying that barely any islands are exporting food to them and even if they are the marine ships are being intercepted and destroyed. they never say luffy caused that but like it happened right after vegapunks speech to the world. the only reason vegapunks broadcast got out was because of luffy
