My problem with HxH is that while the yorknew city arc and chimera ant arcs are peak, the other 4 arcs are just ok. 4/6 arcs weren’t anything special imo. But to be fair, the chimera ant arc is like 1/3 of the entire show. For death note I thought the second half was still pretty good just kind of rushed. The first half was much better though for obvious reasons.

I agree with your death note opinion. For HxH, I didn’t really like the greed island arc nor the heavens arena arc, but the election arc and the zoldycks arc was pretty good too I think. Maybe this is just cause it’s my fav anime though, so I’m sure that I’m biased

I agree. The zoldyck family arc and the election arc were solid. But greed island and heavens arena were genuinely boring other than when hisoka was on the screen (I’m not defending hisoka btw, he’s just entertaining)

No I COMPLETELY agree with you. They explained Nen so thoroughly in Heavens Arena that it was difficult to continue listening to it. And then Greed Island still touched on nen and a bunch of training too so it was difficult. Greed Island is honestly my most disliked arc. But yeah Hisoka is such a fun personality and villain so he always spices up the scene. I’m just wondering how Death Note is less boring than that.

Just cause you have DN ranked higher but I think DN is more boring because there is much more talking and dramatics (like when Light was writing down names like there was no tomorrow). So what makes DN better than HxH for you?

I like the talking in death note. It has really good dialogue. Hunter x hunter has too much training and fights that don’t move the plot forward too much (other than making the characters stronger ofc). The story was incredible in the yorknew and chimera ant arcs, and solid in the Zoldyck family and election arcs, but the rest was boring imo. But yeah hisoka definitely made things interesting in those more boring arcs.
