Modern anime discourse sucks because u will watch an anime about victims of sexual assault or r@pe and how that can ruin their lives and how evil it is and people will be like “yeah this is kinda problematic and perverted no one should watch this ever”

i believe if any creator is involving victims of any sexual abuse, they must know how to write it and how to share the concerns. they kinda did a decent job with this in invincible comic but i hope they touch more about it in the show. in the comic, mark backs from eves touch and does constantly. i hope we get to see more and how it effects the victim and it will bring awareness to how much we victims struggle and the difference in victims.

Was not before but I guess it’s kinda applicable in some of the l8r books More so talking about stories with that as a central focus that just get dragged through the mud by people who can’t understand not liking someone or someone being genuinely evil

MT really is one of those series where u have to stick with it for a while and read specifically the books I still don’t know why the anime keeps cutting all of the massive character development stuff for no reason but their budget not mine ig 🤷‍♀️

Idk I think most animes that get shit for this get shit because they handle the topic really terribly. Like #2 said, if you try and tackle that topic you have a responsibility to do it well, and too often rape, assault, and harassment get used as fanservice in a lot of animes. People, especially women, are on edge about it for a reason.
