hey guys it’s my first year at college and i haven’t been able to get full night sleeps because i keep waking up from my anxiety. does anyone have any tips on what to do bc now im falling asleep during classes

Different things work for different people, but limiting caffeine and practicing meditation has helped me immensely. Try and give yourself time before bed to clear your mind and be grounded in reality (I make time to meditate every day in the morning and at night, but find something that works for you). Running or some other form of thoroughly exhausting exercise also helps me sleep, stealing the restless energy that fuels my anxiety. Hope this helps!

1 & 3 give great suggestions, but also know when to put worrying aside and think about things, ppl, and experiences that make u calm. watching fun shows and yt helps me, reading, sometimes non caffeinated tea, and knowing that everything will be okay helps a lot.

Try listening to things off YouTube and you can set a sleep timer. Listen to bedtime stories, there are tv shows with fan sounds, soft pianos and stuff. Other than that try to tire yourself out maybe

I usually try going to the gym to exhaust myself, drinking tea before bed, and (ik its hard) but minimizing screen time before bed, and getting medicated are all things I had to do when I moved into a dorm.

I sit and focus on breathing and the sensations in my body. I recommend experimenting with different stuff to see what works best

okay yea i spoke abt medication with my therapist and she said that if it gets to a point where i need it that i should ask her and now im wondering if i should just ask her about it now because i literally woke up at 5am and dont have class till 11
