i mean for the actual procedure i didn’t feel a thing and nothing went wrong, i woke up and was just loopy and tired but not too loopy, and if you are drinking pineapple juice for swelling only do it before because i drank it after and it stung. but everything was fine the hardest part for me was not being able to eat solids for a while without it hurting
had all 4 taken out last october. was a nervous wreck and sobbed also. procedure only ended up taking 20 min. didn’t feel a thing. afterwards i kept up with ice on 20/ off 20. no swelling. slept most of the day of and went to a baseball game the next day with very little gain. you got this!! keep up with ice and painkillers and you’ll be great.
Idk if this is relevant, but for some context to my comments, I have autism, ADHD, OCD, and generalized anxiety disorder, and neither the wisdom tooth surgery nor another minor surgery (both with anesthesia) triggered any of those in particular. Of course, everyone’s brain is different even with the same diagnoses! But my point is that, based on a sample size of 1 (lol), it’s theoretically possible to have those conditions and have a totally unremarkable surgery experience.
not at all. I was just very loopy lol. my mom was with my and i kept saying i was dizzy but i was swinging my head around looking around and would fall back asleep. i don’t even remember much of the first time waking up. i totally understand how you’re feeling though and it is scary. you’re gonna be just fine <3 happy to answer any questions you have
not at all. it feels like the feeling you get right when you’re about to fall asleep. it’s very quick, but it just feels like the feeling you have when you’re falling asleep. you don’t feel anything else at all. it’s the easiest part of it. they’ll tell you to count back from 100 and you’ll only make it to 97 lol. it can be scary if you let it, but think of it as a nap. cause honestly it’s a nice ass nap lmao. don’t worry yourself sick-it’s all going to be okay!!
it’s so hard, bc i know logically im gonna be fine. i know ill wake up, might feel a little funny. but it’ll wear off and rhen for the rest of the week i just chill. logically, i know that. but the what ifs consume me and make me so so scared. i also dont wanna wake up all in a panic and all numb. how long did it take for the numbing to wear off for you
i totally understand how you’re feeling and not worrying is much easier said than done. you can’t control how you’ll react after you wake up, but chances are you will be perfectly fine. if you’re thinking “numb” as in like sleep paralysis, it’s not anything like that. it’s like if you were to ding your elbow. it just feels funny but it doesn’t scare you, if that makes sense. the numbness maybe lasted like the rest of the day i had it done? the first time i went under i was so terrified so (1/2)
i completely get it. try your best to tell yourself that your body is in control and these minor procedures are done every day! and probably more than half the people you know have had it too. perhaps you’re heard stories of people coming out of surgery and being sick, scared, etc. but those things usually happen with major surgeries where you are under anesthesia for a longer period of time. (2/2)
i know. ik it’s so so noninvasive. and ik that very few people get sick from this procedure. it’s probably the most common surgery to be performed. i’m also reminding myself that ppl go under by choice for cosmetic surgery, bc that’s how safe it is. ik that once i get home that day, eat smrh, and take a nap i will start feeling better already. ugh. i hate that i am this anxious. my appt is two months away.
A little silly and vague. It wasn’t tripping balls or anything like that, I was juuust out of it enough that it helped to have my mom guide me to the car. The world looked normal, I just wasn’t very smart for a bit lol. I don’t remember how long any mental or physical numbness lasted.
