I got accepted a new job and instead of being happy, I am so stressed about telling my boss I’m leaving that my entire body aches from muscle tension.

I’m going from family owned to cooperate. They are going to take it very personally.

why would they know where you’re going? were you planning to tell them? most people will understand that people follow good employment opportunities even if it’s not with their business, everybody moves from one job to another. people would take it personally if you quit in a disrespectful way but if you are polite about it there really shouldn’t be any reason for them to be upset.

Not disrespectful at all. I’m a very valuable employee that has been there 4 years. I’ve been there long enough to know they don’t advertise for hires. Their philosophy is that God will send them the right people, yet they turn down anyone with piercings/purple hair willing to work. Finding someone to replace me will take them months.

Better tell them now, say it’s a new opportunity that you’re interested in trying

I mean honestly they’re the ones not willing to take the people gods sending their way so kinda on them. Still don’t be rude but I wouldn’t feel too bad about leaving. It sounds like if they really needed help they could get some they’re just too picky.
