How do I differentiate between a “gut feeling” vs “anxiety”? Bc I have a big trip coming up soon and I’m convinced I’m gonna die on it 💀

Well think about the following: would a “reasonable” person have those fears? Like if one goes to the beach, there’s always the possibility, tho very small, of getting attacked by a shark. However there’s a VERY small chance of that happening. Look into statistics

imo gut feelings usually come to you when you’re already in a sketchy situation (like walking alone at night) and you’re instinctually hyper-aware of your surroundings, this is definitely just anxiety

For example, if you’re a decent swimmer, that exponentially decreases your chances of drowning!

i also have OCD tho so i completely get where you’re coming from 🩷🩷🩷 don’t let it make you miss your trip

Thank you 🥺 I guess the challenge is just convincing your mind that it’s being irrational even if you know it is, but it’s helpful to think abt it like that!!

Thank you 🥺🥺 the trip literally isn’t even until 2 more months, so this is def anxiety. This actually is helping me a lot to think of it this way

If it helps at all, I have had this thought about many things. I have verbalized/shared it sometimes, though not all of those times. I have yet to die!
