A month ago, I was so scared of driving that I couldn’t do an easy 5 minute drive to a nearby strip mall. Now, I’ve driven for an hour straight with someone in the car helping ease the anxiety and tomorrow might be driving for 15 minutes all on my own

It gets better with experience, you’re honestly fine as long as you hold your lane and constant speed. Ik some cities have more aggressive drivers tho, if someone tailgates or cuts you off it’s on them, just keep doing what you’re doing and don’t let it freak you out

After a while it becomes instinctual, kind of like walking in a crowded hallway

I know it gets easier with experience, it’s getting to that point that’s the issue😔 I am working at it though and making good progress. Doesn’t help when I make mistakes like recently when I accidentally cut off someone else moving out of the passing lane because I didn’t have a good enough grasp on the size of the car and my distance to them. But, I’m trying not to dwell on the mistakes for too long and instead have confidence that they’ll help me learn and improve

EVERYBODY makes a mistake sometimes on the road. Like you said we just learn from the mistakes and they give us more confidence to know what to do next time. It will become second nature with experience, you got this!

Basically just practicing with someone else in the car as often as I can. I already learned how to drive and got my license, but stopped driving once I got it and got rusty and anxious about driving as a result. Trying to remind myself as often as possible that I knew how to do this at one point and actively pushing myself just a little outside my comfort zone as often as possible got me to where I am now. Now, my goal is to drive to a friend’s house that’s a bit away and will put me on a few-

That’s amazing, I’m so proud of you!! I need to get my license but I’m terrified of the merging part and parallel parking the most I think plus going the exact speed limit without over or under at all. You’re gonna keep doing amazing, I believe in you! :D
