I literally don’t know how to help myself anymore I can’t shower I can’t even brush my teeth I’m skipping classes and not doing homework and I’m waking up thinking I’m going to die every morning. I’m in therapy and I’m too afraid to take meds like omg

My body has been in fight or flight mode every second for the past 4 weeks and I’m having constant panic attack waves like I just want to be normal again but my brain is too exhausted from worrying to do anything to help myself

if you want to discuss your fear of medication i’m happy to talk if you’d like :) i was afraid too - but it was too hard without my brain making the right chemicals and eventually i tried to make it all stop and i HAD to try medication bc it was my last resort. it changed my life, it took time to find the right one and the right dose but truly it changed my life

also if you don’t take vitamin D and C you really should!! especially if you live where the days are growing darker. it makes a huge difference

That sounds awful! Being in fight or flight all the time must be extremely exhausting. While it may feel stupid while in fight or flight, I’ve found somatic grounding to be helpful in lessening the intense feeling of imminent doom. If anything how silly it feels to start a EFT tapping routine while panicking helps to reduce the panic

i tried so many different meds, and tbh they don’t work for me personally, but i found that going outside and doing your hobbies really helps even if it’s not what you’re “supposed to be doing” really benefits your wellbeing. just FIND YOURSELF first and what you enjoy and then the rest will seem easier. please take care of yourself, i promise it gets better🫶

Medication may not work for you. However, medication (Prozac) was life changing for me. I’m still more anxious than the “average” person but the intensity and frequency of my symptoms has reduced. It’s also really wonderful because I don’t really notice/feel a difference in myself. However when I track my anxiety before and after being medicated I can see that it is working
