Told my parents that I’m pretty sure I’m ace, dad told me to stop worrying about it cause sexuality is such a small part of who you are. Mom said maybe I haven’t met the right person yet. She doesn’t understand but I didn’t either for the longest time.
I came out as ace to my mom out of annoyance about ten minutes into her lecturing me about not getting pregnant. I’ve never seen a woman switch up so fast. Suddenly she was talking me INTO having sex. “Well why not just try to make sure? You know you’re allowed to if you want to.”

Love the response from your dad, assuming he meant it supportively

Yeah!!! He did. And my mom is an LGBTQIA ally. I just think she doesn’t really realize the concept of being ace. That or she’s ace spec too (maybe demi) and like me, just thought everyone was that way.

I do always find it crazy to think that other people don’t think the same way as me 🙂↕️ and I imagine it’s something similar. I’ve never thought any other way, so why would I assume others are different? Individuality is so interesting
