i'm not one to use "break up" as relationship advice for any minor inconvenience, but this is pretty big, and you already tried to fix things with him (which he doesn't seem to take seriously). when you've already done what you can, it's just a lost cause :/

will get irritated with anything i have to say, there’s been times where i’ve asked if he still wants to be together or i’ve asked to fix things which he pleads and begs to stay and tells me he’ll try and he loves me and x y and z but i honestly am so lost and i really do love him i don’t know what to do anymore
