Only time I’ve ever done that, it was because I realized she wanted emotional intimacy but didn’t want to actually call it a relationship, so I withdrew over time

Could be the infatuation wearing off. My ex would talk about our future so much and I was so excited to be there with her for it but then I guess she lost the rose-colored glasses and realized reality wasn’t on our side

We had different long term goals and obligations that conflicted. She wanted independence from her family and to get out of our town, I wanted to stay and help out my family, so we ended up splitting.

Oh ok. That makes sense to me, I had a similar situation but I was wanting to relocate to meet his needs. He still didn’t want that.
