I have no idea how to workout but I want to. I want to do a workout routine based on Spiderman. I’m not trying to get as ripped as him by any means, but I want to have the strength and flexibility for mild stunts. Any advice?

If you want strength and flexibility, try to look for exercises that have large ranges of motion and work in more than one plane of the body. Use weights that feel challenging, but controllable and let the weight help into the stretched positions and I can’t emphasize this enough, CONTROL THE WEIGHT don’t unengage the muscles for the exercise and have the weight drop.

I think calisthenics would be the way to go for you. There are a billion and one videos online but they mostly just tell you to do pushups and pull ups. Calisthenics are great bc you can literally progress with your movements and unlock new abilities. And every movement is a compound movment so more muscles are being used and activated and you end up gaining strength relative to you

This is a good intro workout. Not a spiderman like workout but it will help you get into it and build strength

I’m 5’4 and around 120lbs. I have a heart condition so I have to be mindful with cardio

Biggest advice is to take your time when starting out. If you feel like you are going to hurt yourself doing something either lower the weight or find a different workout that hits the same muscles

No problem! Also remember when working out it doesn’t matter how much weight you are lifting. You are there improving yourself and that is what matters!

For starting out use very light weights as your body gets used to the exercises and ranges of motion (otherwise you’re likely to hurt yourself), and after about 2ish months of finding what you like for different muscle groups, aim to increase weight in your sets by about 2.5lbs per week for smaller muscles, and 5lbs per week for larger muscles (like back or legs). If you feel you can increase weight faster than go for it as long as you can control the weight

Reason why you don’t need to start all that heavy is because your body is not used to having muscles structurally worked like weightlifting does so you’ll still make progress early on. That only lasts for so long though, typically a few months in most people, and you’ll need stronger stimulus to grow (aka heavier weight)

Also if your goal is literally Spider-Mans physique then look up the workout Tom Holland does it’s easy to scale to any level of ability

I haven’t seen the workout so I can’t say for certain if it’s good to copy , but typically the actors’ workouts for their movies are not actually that great, but they take steroids so take whatever you see with a large grain of salt
