Since it would be odd to assume it means gun-to-her-head, I assume it means “my boyfriend doesn’t break up with me if I…” which can be perfectly reasonable, depending on what the thing is. Relationships having rules isn’t inherently wrong; it’s kind of inherent in the concept of relationships to begin with.
