why do lots of men view not dating in high school specifically as detrimental loss greatly impacting their life? literally i know several women myself included who also didn't and like are perfectly normal abt it

When you miss out on having a relationship early in life, you lose the social context that others have, you become “weird”. Also getting a gf or fating takes real effort, so it’s viewed as a failure if you can’t pull it off

I’m not a man, but I didn’t date in highschool and I have to agree with #1, I do feel there is a very slight stigma and especially loss of social context because of it. When my college friends learned I never dated before they were very surprised and kind of asked “what happened?” As if it was because of a mistake or failing I had

Well women know they’ll be wanted after school regardless. For men, it’s much harder and school is one of the best ways to do it. After that, it becomes much more difficult

the longer a man goes without experience, the harder it is to get any

I know a lot of women in college prefer someone at least a little bit experienced and that shuts out these people. You’re also permitted to make mistakes in high school that you can’t make in college so they have less opportunities to learn after high school. Finally I think high school relationships are overdramatized in media and that’s from someone who dated in HS

In some ways it can be harder for women because men are seen as “easier” and there’s stigma attached to not being chosen. It’s ok sometimes for a guy to hit his stride later in life but women are often expected to be fending off suitors when they’re young

Of course you didn’t bc you most likely gained experience much earlier than high school. It’s a privilege you can’t see and you prob had above average social development before it became a problem. It’s an uncommon topic, especially obvious to some, new to others

I didn't even get my first kiss until i was 22. So no it's just genuinely didn't affect my life like at all
