Why are the high schoolers also hanging out near the abandoned building? This seems like there’s too many “known by him” variables that don’t add up when examined from any 3rd party. Like if I was a PI or murder cop, and someone laid this story out, I would suspect there was foul play before the date even started just based on the number of people doing an act outside their normal behavior loops with you being the only one not in the know, running of trust/hope it will turn out well.

Also I was a special kind of recklessly stupid in HS so if someone was blowing an Aztec death whistle at my friends and I from an abandoned building, that would have been a green light for me to grab the hunting rifle out of the back of my truck and go kill a demon. If you were my sister not only would I tell you not to go on that date. I would tell you to stop talking to whoever that kid is because he and I needed to have a 1 on 1 convo about making dumb plans and trying to include my sister.
