As a man, it’s okay to shave your armpits guys. It’s a breeding zone for bacteria and is NOT attractive. And if you got a whole weave in there, please don’t wear tank tops.

Or you could just trim, an ingrown hair in the armpit area would really suck

this is coming from a girl who has laser hair removal but armpit hair is not unsanitary, in fact it can help reduce BO and is useful for other things evolutionarily, as long as you wash yourself properly than it’s not unhygienic to exist as your body naturally is, basically all hair removal is aesthetic barring special medical cases, get a grip

as a man, i used to never shave my armpits, but one day i really was curious why i smelled so bad and figured out its entirely because your armpits can hold in so much stench and youll never know until you shave them. as a man i think good hygiene is just shaving them. i prefer to smell good instead. Ive had numerous women (like literal entire workforces) compliment me on never smelling bad.

Actually after reading the comments, just shave them every once in a while. Maybe every 6 months?

Longer armpit hair literally traps more odor wdym? Like yeah if you wash it a lot you’ll see less of that, but if you workout a lot and sweat a lot it will be easier for odor to develop, and the longer pit hair makes it harder for deodorant to get full coverage too

Um, bathe post workout.

No, it does not prevent sweat, it can potentially reduce friction though

Well yeah, but I’d rather not be stinking it up as much during a workout, and sometimes you have to physically exert yourself when you’re nowhere near a shower and would have to deal with the odor for longer if you don’t have it trimmed. Heat is a thing too. You can’t expect ppl to shower like 4 times a day

If you’re having that big an issue with odor, it’s not caused by an inch or two more or less of hair.

Just because you don’t trim your armpit hair doesn’t mean you’re going to start smelling bad during a workout (unless you had no deodorant on beforehand). It also means you won’t have to deal with sweat dripping down your sides and soaking your shirt. If you are getting ripe in the middle of the day then you need stronger hygiene products regardless of armpit hair length Sincerely- a football player who has never trimmed nor shaved

Bro my armpit hair can grow pretty long, I keep it at an inch or less. The odor is 100% exacerbated by longer hair as a clinging site, it’s not the biggest issue in the world but I’d obv rather not have more chances for odor compared to less

I do mma, it is a sweat fest all throughout. If it’s 100° out in the summer and I’m out yeah it’ll be getting sweaty in the middle of the day. Since I trim and then apply deodorant I dont have issues. I didn’t trim before and I had issues w it

Again, likely a body chemistry thing that isn’t applicable to all. If you wanna trim, trim. Shave? Go for it. But don’t act like that’s the perfect solution to any odor issue for everyone which is what you did when first responding.

I think it holds true generally for most people, never pretended like it was a perfect solution for everyone. If I get even marginally less odor issues that’s good enough reason for me to trim it personally. You do you man, no one is forcing you on anything, it’s just an online forum of ppl answering
