If you arent practicing, you aren’t catholic. If you want to pursue things with him you will have to make sacrifices because if it ever come between you and his faith, he will choose his faith. Either convert or find someone else

Religion is one of those fundamental things that you either agree on, accept differences, or break up. Better to figure it out sooner than later.

Would you rather break up than try attending one mass with him? If so, then yeah, you probably should.

i’m baptized so i’m considered catholic. He can also make sacrifices too so i’m gonna ask if he can accept me not going. If not i’ll have to break it off with him but i really don’t see him breaking it off with me.

no need to, we sorted it out. We’re gonna try to find another church that’s more loving and accepting. He’s also cool with me not going and using my bible and journal at home. Thanks for all your help guys!!!

So if you’re a confirmed Catholic, then as far as the Catholic Church is concerned you’re just a lost Catholic who needs to find their way back home (ala Prodigal Son), and the door is always open and you will be welcomed back. To the rest of the world tho, if you’re no longer practicing and have no intention of returning to Catholic teachings or practices, then you’re not a Catholic anymore unless/until you change your mind.
