men have to be protective because bad men exist. nobody can change the fact that men exist, but the best they can do is protect others from the bad ones.

what does that like… mean though? yes, “we” can do better, but there’s only so much any one of us can do to bump up the average. “men just shouldn’t be bad” isn’t a workable strategy for change. “men should help look out for others” is something we can actually do.
