Because their niceness is performative. They just want the validation that comes with being chosen. Once they’re rejected, they either continue to try and prove themselves or they lash out(revealing their true self and intentions).

He seem very sweet wanting texting all day and once I showed interest it’s cricket. There only so many chance trying to date to end up in this situation . Eventually I want give up dating all together
