When something upsetting happens how do you handle it?

It usually depends on what it is that happened. If its a death then I like to retreat a bit into my own world and grieve. If its something pertaining to friends I try to talk to be people about it who might be able to give insight. Sometimes I journal or draw to distract myself from what it is that's happening or to vent about it to my eyes writing how I feel.

Like MrYikyak says it depends what happened. Upset could be angry or sad and there are different levels to each. I have mourned loved ones and got into screaming matches.

I think about it, what I could've done better (if possible), and how I can change from it

Explode/sob in a quiet, secluded place, then talk about it with my inner circle when I’ve had time to process my emotions. If it’s that bad, I just go to the homies as a mess.

As a girl I’m hitting my winter arch shit it’s not just an arch it’s a 24/7/365 circle 4 am runs studying cooking cycling I don’t know what it is with cycling but it endorphins for me and makes me feel better. Reading a book in a cozy room with candles lit while it’s raining outside or reading by the river when it’s sunny

To give a bit more context I did really poorly on a school thing. No one is hurt but I’m upset and disappointed in myself

I have taught myself to be able to competely eliminate unproductive negative trains of thought, so I would just say to try and "reset" your mind when you even get a hint of stress spiraling.

Im sorry to hear about that. Ive been in a similar situation and I learned from it. I would recommend doing something for yourself that makes you happy then come back to it with a plan on how you'll move forward. So you have a clear mind

I went out with my friends today before I went back and did it so I’m coming off a high into a pit basically. I appreciate it, sometimes things like this get everyone down, but I’m hopeful that I won’t feel guilty for too long.

Sorry to hear dude :( Was it a passion project or something super highly weighted, if you don’t mind me asking?

It’s not super highly weighted however it is the first grade put in so it looks pretty bad.
