Is it true that some men would rather be attractive and oversexualized, harassed and abused than be unattractive and ignored? as a woman i just can't imagine wanting to be treated and viewed like that.

I’m a woman but my brother was raped. The amount of people that said he was “lucky” because the woman was “hot” is utterly horrifying.

Yes I would like that

I’m still firmly of the belief that if I, as a man, got catcalled I would enjoy it and be beaming with confidence. It’s because of how rarely men get compliments, I assume. I’ve been complimented 3 times in my life and I remember all vividly.

Who cares if I’m being sexualized, I want sex and they want me for it. Sounds nice to me. Especially since women don’t like me normally. You think differently because women view sex differently and get tons of sexual attention

I can see what you're saying but just bc you want sex doesn't mean you should accept from just anyone at anytime. What if its from a women twice your age that you aren't attracted too? Or even if it is a woman your age you aren't attracted too? Or what if it's at work? or church? or a place where you're trying to focus on a matter at hand and its just not the time or place?

I also feel like by this logic it means women not want sex. Women do want sex obviously, but again there is a time and place for that, and just like men they have preferences.

Getting catcalled isn't the same as getting complimented though

I’m aware, but it’s oversexualization as you talked about in your post. I still believe I’d love it.

So why does ur self confidence rely so heavily on other people that you would enjoy getting objectified?

I have enough self confidence, but it’s because I would think of it as compliments no matter how sexual they are. The average guy is so starved for any semblance of positive attention that even positive attention of a sexual nature is seen as great.

Then I’ll ignore it but still probably be happy about it because at least someone thinks I’m hot. And I didn’t say women don’t want sex, I said they view it differently

I’m kinda a people pleaser so I don’t think I would have strong boundaries against it which is probably my problem. I just want any kind of intimacy even if its a hookup

It was really bad for a bit there plus he was a minor when it happened. He had to be put in a mental facility so he didn’t kill himself. Thankfully he’s okay and safe now. He can hug family without a freak out now so big improvements. I just hope people understand the gravity of what they’re saying sometimes.
