Go on the date anyway. Try to be respectful and be honest. Why do we all seem to hate each other. We’re not all terrible people, because we voted one way or another

Nah this can create really shitty issues down the road. Just date who you align with

I don’t think that’s a good idea. If you know something is a deal breaker why not mention it before you go on a date? I don’t date anyone who didn’t want kids. I also don’t date anyone who’s a Trump supporter or a conservative. It’s a difference in what’s important to us.

That last sentence is a little out of date. I myself don’t limit myself to my political affiliation, but I also don’t treat “terrible people” as a deal-breaker. Even the idea you can just wash your hands of your own values or the consequences (to others) of your vote because voting is your right as an American and it used to be true that voting a certain way didn’t make you a bad person, shows a lack of responsibility. And that’s a valid thing to care about in a partner

First date doesn’t mean you have to go on a second date

Most go on the first date in the hopes of many more. If voting a certain way is a deal breaker for OOP then knowing that before hand saves time.

If you’re going on first dates with zero intention of continuing the relationship you shouldn’t be dating
