how come cops don't have to go to law school?? how are you enforcing the law but didn't even study it? i just realized some of them don't even have a bachelor's 😭

Not just some of them, MOST of them do not even have a bachelors degree. We definitely need to educate them, why are we picking the stupidest people who were mostly college drop outs/too dumb to get into college? That’s why we’re having so many issues bc they’re dumb as rocks. Before we go worrying about them going to law school and knowing every letter of the law, I think we just simply need to be picking higher IQ individuals

cops need better training for sure but law school is for judges and lawyers. nobody would choose to go into law enforcement if they needed law school

it takes more schooling to become a hairdresser than it does to become a cop. that’s deliberate, they want people who will not ask questions when they’re told to act immorally

They learn all that stuff at the police academy. It’s like trade school, so don’t believe they are just recruiting randoms off the street

i think they should at least be some sort of requirement that involves studying the law, maybe a bachelors in criminology or something

They are required to study the law. When an officer arrests someone they need to know what law, not just its name but the exact statute number, when filling out the arrest paperwork. Half of all officers sit at a desk and will never leave it for their whole career, just doing paperwork.

Idk what planet you live on but ive met some impressivly dumb people in college. Ive also met some incredibly smart people who arnt in college. Officers cant just walk in and get a job they do go to school for their job
