Yes, plenty of us. There’s some liberals too. But, respectfully, let’s not make this sub political. The only time it should get political is if someone has different ideas or beliefs than you and looks down on you or acts like you’re the enemy for thinking differently. Those ppl suck. I’m also doing a PhD so I am surrounded by the nonsense and I am getting so fucking sick of it.
I think there are conservative people who definitely are against bigotry, but it's hard for me to see conservative politics as not endorsing bigotry when they wanna pass laws that hurt many of my friends. One good example I can give you is that there are a lot of efforts in Republican areas to prevent trans people from getting gender affirming care. For many of my friends who are trans and non-binary, not having access to that means they don't get to be themselves and I think that's wrong.
The fact that this is the insult you choose to disagree with me tells me everything I need to know about you. You can disagree with me if you wish, but I don't hold the views I do in hopes of this. I just don't think it's right what the Republican Party in the US has been doing to so many people
You know, I’ll actually grant you one, conservative politics is somewhat transphobic. But I’d clarify the laws they want to pass are specifically about procedures *for minors*, once you’re an adult you can do whatever you want to yourself, and about protecting safe spaces where women are vulnerable such as women’s bathrooms, women’s shelters, women’s prisons, and women’s sports. No one is arguing trans people shouldn’t be allowed to shop at target, or own a credit card, or swim in a public pool.
