Personally it’s a double edged sword. It helps give a long term goal to people but it isn’t necessarily something that makes or breaks a person. While it Varys between people I think the underlying want to accomplish something is nice and love to see when other people have it since I lack it

Agree with #1, important to have some kinda passions in life, but like ambition focuses so much on the vanity of doing something, whereas I wanna do shit cuz it’s cool, not cuz other people think it’s cool. So long as you have something happening in your life and it’s not just weed and video games, like who cares?

It’s a main focus for me because of how I grew up. My parents and grandparents dying wishes were for me to grow up to be successful with whatever I choose to do.

ambition does not inherently necessitate vanity, you can be an ambitious human who doesn’t tell a single soul about the shit u do. definitionally: ambition is not about appearances.

Need a balance. A person with no ambition and no drive contributes nothing to the people around them. A person with too much ambition and drive is never content with or grateful for the things they do have, and often treats people around them as disposable. A healthy amount of drive lets people pursue their passions, but not at the cost of everything or everyone else in their lives.
