There’s a lot of factors here. One, what’s the grade difference here? A freshman and senior would be weird imo since that’s someone freshly graduated and someone who’s almost done with college. Do you have any say in their grades or anything? If it’s not mutual how would you ensure they don’t feel uncomfortable asking you for help? Generally, I’d wait until you’re no longer their TA before doing anything

yea that’s the problem i’m not trying to get fired lmao we’re only 1-2 yrs apart and have overlapping social lives i met him at a party before i knew he was my student😭

By TA, I assume the TA and the student are both college students. It’s not a big age gap
