Women get compliments from the other sex all the time which yall think nothing of. However, it means more to a man when a woman compliments him because it happens WAY less than even another man complimenting him (which as you said is rare)

Yall get a mix of both. It’s not 100% harassment and compliments from unattractive men are taken worse than compliments from attractive men. Some guys would willingly choose the oversexualization if they could
