I’m the one he wanted to marry but we’d be incompatible so we mutually called things off. Rn we see each other, I’ll go over to his,yk,etc…What’s men thoughts on still being involved with the girl you want but can’t date?

I’ve thought abt cutting ties because it’s preventing me from moving on not to date others but just to heal. But my heart wants this so bad

I’m in a similar place with my former gf, was extremely difficult for a few months and i still get reminded sometimes of why I love her, however seeing some of her decisions recently have unfortunately made it easier to move on. If you absolutely can’t lose the friendship then just limit being in person especially 1 on 1 for a while. My former gf and I broke up once for the same reasons we are now broke up but we’re always in such close proximity that It led us back together.

It’s understandable to want the relationship and it will likely hurt. But if there’s nothing you can do about the problem then sometimes it’s best to move on, even if that means cutting them off or reducing their role in your life.

This sounds like a living hell and both parties need to other people

Why does he want to marry, and what makes you incompatible?

It is hell. I still love him and care for him deeply but this is the closest we can get to each other. We don’t acknowledge it

And as #1 said it’s pretty painful and miserable. Atleast for a while and depending on your relationship healing/ moving on will be greatly prolonged by staying friends.

Every time I get the strength to leave, he does something that makes me fall back in love. Ig I’m so mentally weak that I take it as a sign to stay. I never believed in marriage till I met him

He’s not willing to go the extra mile for me the way I would for him. He also doesn’t trust me. I am closed off and very introspective

Is his only trust issue coming from that you’re closed off?
