He might not want to ruin what you have since there’s still a little over half a semester left. I’d say you have a good chance, but test the waters for interest first. Ask him to hang outside of class as friends or study together

I was thinking of asking if he was going out this weekend, just a friendly like “hey are you going out this weekend?” Do you think that’s testing the waters

Def give it a try. Just keep in mind that it’s Halloween month so don’t get in your feels too much if you see something. If you play the long game (Christmas season being the goal) you can cuff for sure
