so my boyfriend’s real into warhammer 40K (like watches videos all the time knows all the lore) but i don’t think he plays tabletop. i cannot for the life of me remember his favorite faction but i got him a little ultramarine mini figurine. is that stupid

Nah, especially if you’re just like, “this one just reminded me of you” Which if anyone knows anything about the game, that’s quite the honor. Ultramarines are sort of … controversial? Might be the right word? Because in the grim dark of the setting, they remain noble, the “good guys” (sort of, if it could even be called that, there really aren’t good guys) but if there were, ultramarines. But you can tell a bunch about people based on which faction they relate to, or aim to relate to.

Go figure, when we were kids, my brother convinced me to be the most evil faction, probably messed me up a bit as a kid but, looking back, it was just nice he wanted to include me in what he was interested in.
