What’s an invasive vs non invasive species?

I haven’t taken ecology in a while but I’m pretty sure it’s about being native to the environment and not having any natural predators to keep the population under control

Invasive species are species not native to a habitat that are spreading and disrupting the ecosystem of their non native habitats. Non invasive species are just native species.

Im taking a class on this now. Invasive species are (1) not native to *that ecosystem* (so a forest species in a nearby grassland can technically be invasive), (2) successful in their nonnative range, (3) cause damage to human health, economics, or the environment. A species CAN be nonnative without being invasive. Species native to that ecosystem cannot be invasive, but they can be problematic under certain conditions.
