
Im taking a class on this now. Invasive species are (1) not native to *that ecosystem* (so a forest species in a nearby grassland can technically be invasive), (2) successful in their nonnative range, (3) cause damage to human health, economics, or the environment. A species CAN be nonnative without being invasive. Species native to that ecosystem cannot be invasive, but they can be problematic under certain conditions.
