bf got into his dream school across the country. I said long distance was a dealbreaker. I got accepted too but decided it’s not for me. He still thinks we’re both going. thinking of waiting to tell him so he doesn’t factor me in his choice is that wrong?

Yeah, you’re essentially lying to him through omission. He deserves to know what’s going on and he’s allowed to make changes to his plans if he wants to. If you want to break up with him anyways, that’s a different story

You need to tell him now before he resents you for keeping it a secret

Tell him asap most mature thing to do. Otherwise you’re just waiting to avoid confrontation and that’s not healthy for you either.

Tell him the truth and encourage him to still go, maybe offer to try and make something work too if you think you could. Not telling him will cause more problems and resentment down the line. If y’all have a strong relationship and you still really like him you might be able to make long distance work better than you think you could. If you’re really against that idea idk what to tell you on that front, but you should at least be honest with him

Female here. This happened to my best friend about a year ago! Same situation. When I ask her about it now, she says she didn’t love him. Even though that’s not what she said when he moved. He never got closure. It was very sad.
