Does anyone know pokemon cards? Im trying to sell my old ones and the internet is telling me this ones worth like $500. Am I being pranked or is this legit? Any advice is appreciated.

Crystal guardians celibi, psa 10 is 3800$, 9 is 1200, anything 7+ will bump value

you should look at some pokemon card pricing apps to check, or look up prices for the same card

Fr? That’s amazing to hear, thank you. Do you think I should grade it?

i tell people that grading is a personal choice. some people like the look of graded cards and some hate it. if you do just make sure to go psa or bgs and not some cheap knockoff grading company. it looks like would get a good score and jump the value pretty nicely if you are interested in that

Dude thank you so much. Thats super helpful. I’m hoping to sell it so I think I’ll definitely consider grading from one of those two. Is it true that they charge you more when they give you a good grade or when it’s a higher value card? My worry is that I’ll lose money grading it bc that would suck lol

for sure. i think there is a tier system for higher graded cards. if you have a card shop or something like that they could probably have more information about grading and how that works but i would imagine they return on a graded card should outperform the grading cost

Is there a way to know if I’m likely to get a seven or more? Like there’s some minor scuffs around one corner on the back. Would that be enough to not get a good score? I’m just kinda worried about sending it in without being sure it’ll be worth the money. Thank you for your comment though, that info is definitely appreciated and will be used :)

Thanks for this advice. I’ve been using the price charting app bc it let me scan all my old cards, and how I realized this card was even worth anything so I totally agree, those apps are super helpful. I just wasn’t sure I could believe it at first with how high it said it was lol

Its only 20$ and you wont lose anything but possibly that, but everything to gain. The centering looks pretty solid but yes id suggest the website www.edgegrading.com to get an idea

Oh fr? Only $20? When I looked at the psa website it seemed like more expensive cards were more expensive bc of the insurance. Is that a scam lol

Figure out the metrics used for grading and do the analysis yourself. The person buying it ultimately decides whether they believe grading is accurate anyways

Sending a 500 dollar Pokémon card to a company is a great way to get your shit swapped out or damaged or otherwise “whoops!” And then you just handed over a 500 dollar item to some third party and no court of law is going to take your loss serious at all.

Respectfully no, Psa gets to decide that and you will always be able to sell a psa grade on tcgplayer at the market price of the slab. If the slab is real it is worth that

You have no clue what you're talking about, they provide insurance and as long as you ship yourself you're fine. A 500$ card is not even remotely value in regards to the psa grading world. They have a reputation to protect and will do their part. High value old cards especially NEED to be graded, Nobody will pay a penny over 550 for this card NM, but a psa 8+ will go for over a thousand wasy
