I think being called a "pretty" man/boy can be used insultingly especially if they're more of a rugged type of guy.

Beautiful if I had to pick between the two, pretty just feels like idk kinda boyish, but honestly what does it more for me is complimenting a physical feature rather than just saying I’m handsome or pretty or whatever
