Nah, he seems genuinely not upset about it. Like you throwing up was so insignificant to him that he didn’t even make the connection between you $20 and that happening. If he was bothered, he wouldn’t forget.

You’re good OP. He seems to genuinely not have cared about what happened. To be entirely honest, if a person vomits, it almost entirely not their fault. Not something you should be ashamed of. Your response was GREAT tho. Sending him money to either replace it or get it cleaned was very matured of you 👏🏻

Your feelings are still valid though, but try and stay positive. Just make sure if you see him again, you make sure you don’t puke again in front of him if you can help it. One time is an accident and easily forgiven, twice is a pattern and would probably end things between yall. But don’t worry about it till you gotta worry about it

for now, just take him at his word, that he’s not upset. And proceed as normal. Like no need to change communication frequency or anything. And if you wanna see him again, then go for it and make plans, just don’t give him the cold shoulder and get distant due to no fault of his own.

Give yourself some time, and it’ll feel less overwhelming and stressful. And you’ll be able to think about things more clearly, plus it’ll give you time to see if he meant it or not.

Might as well, most people give gifts because it feels good, in this case it probably gives a feeling of relief to pay for your own mess. If you reject gifts, then people giving them don't get that dopamine hit.
