 For those of you that don’t know: Every 1 in 7 adult men in the USA has been the victim of severe physical violence by an intimate partner at some point (according to the cdc). That’s a high rate of intimate partner violence.

Yes, however numbers are hard to estimate (not doubting OP) because men (and victims in general) may downplay what has happened to them

Men are more likely to be physically abused than women in hetero relationships because men are stronger and more durable than women, so some women feel it is ok to hit their partners, so yes
