I find it hard to do chores when I know i’m going to be alone But as soon as someone is coming over I have all of the motivation in the world to get things spotless How do you navigate this self worth dilemma and motivate yourself for proper self care

Have you tried giving yourself a schedule. Vacuuming is done on Wednesday, windows and mirrors on Thursday, toilets on Friday.

I have this issue. Sometimes I just set a timer for like 20 minutes and just get something done. Then I tell myself I can go back to whatever it is I was doing or wanting to do otherwise… you’d be surprised how much you get done in 20 minutes

Would you let someone treat a friend the way you treat yourself? You need to separate the way you feel about yourself from the way you treat yourself. Every decent person deserves a decent standard of living, so, seeing as you’re the only one who can provide that for yourself, you are obligated to do so in the same way you would for any other decent person

this is definitely effective but I meant more finding the motivation just for the sake of self care as a depressed person. Does that make sense?
