Well honestly depends on the guy but someone could totally just have one hobby like that, I used to just watch tons of shows after school every single day and not go out or nothing. Also you could always just ask him

For ex. After I get off (around the same time) I paint, clean, cook, bake, go for walks, sew, or do various of my other hobbies. Is it normal for guys to have one hobby and it be gaming and that’s it? Also idk if this is relevant but he lives at home, doesn’t cook any meals (mom does), and the only thing he has to clean is his bedroom and he doesn’t even really do that.

Tired all the time and over doing the same thing. But he makes no effort to go out and do anything. I get it. After work he is tired and wants to chill. But like dude. Go outside and chill. Get away from the same games you play EVERY single day. Am I crazy for this outlook? (3)

Multiple different games=multiple different things to do. I think you just think gaming is a negative thing

Idk about other guys, but I do a lot of different things with my time, not just game and I play a lot of games. Most of my time is split between school work and working out though so maybe it’s not as applicable

Does he make enough time for you, when it cuts into that then it’s a bigger problem

I had/have that problem of being bored with the nonsense I’m doing, but so locked down that any other hobby seems out of the question. If you’d like to help him, I’d recommend going on some facetime dates; both of you going on a walk through a park, cooking up a meal, etc. whatever you can think of to get both of you more active and doing something you wouldn’t normally.

It’s not abnormal or wrong for him to only have one hobby, as long as he’s meeting all of his obligations. But it also sounds like living at home is enabling him to not have any regular adult responsibilities, so the bar for ‘his obligations’ is subterranean.

Other big question, and this is a key one, are the games he plays single-player or multiplayer? If he’s playing multiplayer games, then that can also be his social time, his way of hanging out with other people, even if they’re just online friends. But if he’s only playing single-player games, then it’s a form of escapism, how he unplugs from the world to recharge. Which isn’t always unhealthy, but it can be if you start to prioritize your virtual life and achievements over real life.

I don’t see it as a negative thing, I enjoy being on games myself. But I don’t understand how he can sit down and do it for 5+ hours straight
