to the guys in the comments, i want yall think about the fact feminism ≠ hating men, and never has, and never will. feminism is the advocacy for equality.
As a man do you consider yourself a feminist?

Also, it kinda speaks volumes to me that people are willing to essentially say they don’t support women’s rights just because people have been mean to them before. It’s not right for people to be rude to you sure, but why should that change the fundamental belief behind it?

It sometimes has and sometimes will, there are no absolutes. Feminism goes one way and does not speak for everyone

Nowadays tho- Feels like it’s definitely equal to that. I’m all for equal rights, but I will never label myself a feminist.

I'm really not. I've had plenty of conversations with women about feminism, and they always turn hostile if I even question them for better understanding. It is a very much a 'if you aren't with us, you're against us' mentality.

Don't get me wrong. I know prolly more than most men how strong and competent women can be. I would absolutely support feminism in the past, just not modern day. I just don't hate myself enough to support and organization that will gladly step on me to get the result they want.

i would say thats wrong. being a feminist, regardless of the radical members of the movement, means standing with women and fighting for their equality. in saying that you dont support modern feminism, youre including ALL of the movement, not just the stuff you disagree with.

If the inmates are running the asylum, I'm not gonna trust the asylum. I will continue to support the women that I have in my life and treat them with the same equality and respect that I'd treat my male peers and vote for any blatant inequalities going both ways. To me, that's what feminism SHOULD be and was in the past, but I guess I'm the enemy regardless.

this analogy is a joke💀 feminism isn't an asylum, and the "inmates" aren't running shit. the vast majority of feminists are fighting for equality, and just because you only see the "i hate men" stuff doesn't mean those women are running things; it just means thats all you see.

Also- I am not trynna seem rude here, just being genuine. Some people take feminism in a negative light, so I just don’t wanna associate myself like that yk? But, yes, I want yall to have as much opportunity as me/men.

But saying you aren’t a feminist causes problems too. For most women that would be sort of a way of saying you don’t care about women’s rights, or don’t believe they deserve equality. There’s a bunch of shitty feminists yes, but completely distancing yourself from that is harmful as well.

I’ve never had a woman ask me point blank if I am one. I don’t need a word to label me, if my actions show I care about yalls rights.
