theres a snowball effect causing this and its because of social media. young boys grew up seeing the radical "men aint shit" women and the misogynistic "hate women" men. social media gets more views by pushing these ideas and it conditions these kids to think both of those extremes are the norm. these kids latch onto these beliefs creating more young extremist followers
Plus, TikTok exposes them (wildly disproportionately) to women being their absolute worst (the app seems to signal boost that content on purpose for some reason). So (in addition to bad examples setting low standards for themselves) they’d tend to have a pretty dim and disproportionately negative view of women in general if most of their observations of them have been TikTok influencers
