Boys, we know there are different economic systems. US has a capitalist system, while many European countries have welfare economies to address wealth distribution. Socialism, though not entirely communist, emphasizes state ownership. Which is best?

Well Scandinavia has the best quality of life in the world so 🤷‍♂️ I don’t think full on socialism is a good idea as it may disincentivize hard work and reward people who don’t work a day in their lives. Communism is obvious, it’s authoritarian asf, you literally own nothing, and we’ve seen how it’s worked out previously. Capitalism is an unfair system that promotes a wide gap between the rich and everyone else.

I feel like America has a really shitty version of capitalism, so there needs to be some kind of safety net for normal people

Just to clarify, 100% capitalism doesn’t exist. It is impossible to run with 100% capitalism. I just wanted to convey it easily to most people with limited words.

I’ve come to enjoy aspects of china’s system where state funds are used to spark lacking private sectors. In return there is more government oversight, but that can be good when used as regulation. They tend to abuse it for propaganda.

I’m uniquely qualified to comment on this. Communism is ideal, but socialism is the practical choice. Capitalism must be left behind.

Seconded. I feel like even in the best case scenario, capitalism expects people to be “at the bottom” regardless of how they got there.

As a society the average person is significantly more wealth now than even 100 years ago let alone 200

I’m studying to get a degree in supply chains and logistics. Studying economic systems is what I do. Before that I wanted to be a history teacher, so I also know a lot about the political aspect.

Income inequality is worse than before the French Revolution, and spending power is worse than the Great Depression. The rate of unemployment is much, much higher than reported. The economy is propped up by an AI tech bubble and drug money. Top 10% of earners owns 66% of the wealth in this country, which is why it looks like America is rich.
