Maintaining a more ongoing thing (and even staying in contact) takes work and attention that can’t always be spared. Plus, even if you do, you run the risk of her catching feelings and getting attached in a way that makes it less humane to cut things off later (and we don’t want to be unduly cruel or make you angry when we can leave it on good terms instead.)
