Idk if it’s a gender specific thing. I think overall it’s just nice to have a movie about hope, and pursuit of what’s right and justice. It’s refreshing after years of “realism focused” cinema, it’s nice to not have some crazy moral dilemma. Just a simple right vs wrong and someone trying to do the best they can to help people

yes i meant more along the lines of like how most women can see/saw themselves in Barbie i was wondering if it was the same with Clark Kent/Superman for men

Idk that I can sit here and say I saw myself in him. I can certainly say I’d like to be like that in some degree, but that’s always been the case with superheroes for me, as I’ve always loved them growing up. I can’t say it’s the best superhero movie I’ve ever seen, but I can certainly say it was a joy to watch, and overall I enjoyed how the movie made me feel.

Um…ok? Lmao. Also, I’m glad the movie is doing well. I hope this is a sign that our collective consciousness is changing - looking around it seems like a lot of people are frustrated with the world atm and it’s nice to see something that isn’t just geared towards violence, but more hope and justice. I love invincible, but there’s only so much realism I can take on the hero genre. It’s a fantasy world, so why not make it fantasy? Why ground something that by nature, isn’t?

i like invincible too but superman is just so much more comforting. and lex luther is a better villain than omni-man imo

Yeah, but that’s partly bc Omniman isn’t supposed to be a villain in the same way that lex is he was one in season one but grew as a character and in the later seasons I wouldn’t say he’s a villain at all. Lex is supposed to be a villain through and through

Yea but invincible isn’t supposed to be comforting lol. Superman is the embodiment of what we strive to be. I like the idea of someone with ultimate power still choosing good instead of being corrupted by the power. It’s alarmingly a fantasy based on the state of the world
