Contrary to popular belief, I don’t think it’s all OPs fault that the conversation does. If the guy was smart, he could’ve said something like “Good luck on ur test, let me know how it goes” as a call to action that he wants to continue the convo in at least that direction, not just saying “Good luck on your test”, it’s the small things, y’all

You can talk about your thoughts on how the test went and/or ask him what he’s up to. If not those, maybe start a new conversation around something you both enjoy or ask something about him that you’d like to know
